Yngvild Aspeli

An artist following an artistic apprenticeship with Compagnie Philippe Genty, associated with the Centre de Création et de Production de la Maison de la Culture de Nevers (The Centre for Creation and Production of Nevers) since 2012.

Director, actress, and puppeteer, Yngvild Aspeli is attached to the relationship between the puppet and the actor-puppeteer. Combining cruelty and kindness, her shows transport us to a world of images, awakening feelings that have been completely buried.

Yngvild came to France to train as an actor at the Jacques Lecoq International Theatre School. Then, from 2005 to 2008, she continued her career with the seventh class of the National Higher School of Puppetry of Charleville-Mézières.

Since then, she has worked as an actress and puppeteer, as well as making masks and puppets for various companies in France, Norway and England. She directed and acted in Something Blue, A Corner of the Ocean, and Birdhouse with the Jammy Voo Theatre company.

In 2009, she directed her first show,
Signaux, in Charleville-Mézières, where Philippe Genty first noticed her.

In 2012, as part of her apprenticeship with Compagnie Philippe Genty, she worked as creative assistant on
Ne m’oublie pas / Forget me not.

Opéra Opaque, created last February in Nevers and in Norway, will be presented as part of the international festival of Charleville-Mézières in September 2013
